Filmation

The New Adventures of Zorro was produced by Filmation in 1981. Thirteen half-hour episodes aired on Saturday mornings on CBS. In a small departure from the standard legend, it was not Bernardo who aided Zorro, it was Miguel. He rode a Palomino, also wore a mask and dressed in a tan costume. Miguel worked as Zorro's partner in the tradition of the Lone Ranger and Tonto rather than as a secret helper. An educational message was attached to the end of each episode.

Actor Henry Darrow was featured as the voice of Zorro.
